Marital status and polygamy policy
Transparency before contact is a principle at Qadrna: every member knows the other person's status and intentions before accepting contact. This policy explains how we apply that.
Types of marriage on Qadrna
Qadrna supports marriage between a man and a woman in two forms: monogamous marriage and polygamy. Neither may be used as cover for a casual relationship.
Disclosing your status is mandatory
No profile is complete without a marital status, which is one of:
- Single.
- Divorced.
- Widowed.
- Married and seeking polygamy.
Your status appears on your profile and in matches, and cannot be hidden.
Intentions visible before contact
Anyone seeking polygamy has that intention shown clearly on their profile. Every member can set in their preferences whether they accept a match who is seeking polygamy, and is not matched with anyone who does not fit that preference. That way each side decides with full knowledge, without embarrassment or surprises.
When your status changes
If your marital status changes — through marriage, divorce or widowhood — you must update it on your profile immediately. Every change to your status is reviewed before it appears.
Concealment and misrepresentation
Hiding a marriage, giving an incorrect status, or changing your status to get around other members' preferences is a violation that leads to a ban. This is a stated policy, not a case-by-case judgement. We review every report of an incorrect status, and may ask the member for clarification before deciding.
The limits of our role
Qadrna does not issue religious rulings, and does not verify the religious or legal eligibility of any marriage. Checking the conditions of a marriage — including those relating to polygamy — and registering it under Islamic law and the applicable laws is the responsibility of the two parties and their families.
Reporting
If you notice an incorrect status or a hidden intention, report the account from the profile or the conversation, or email info@qadrna.com. We treat reports confidentially and never reveal who made a report to the other member.
