Policies
Privacy policy
Qadrna is a platform for a serious marriage decision, and privacy here is the default behaviour, not a setting you have to find. This policy explains what data we collect about you, why we collect it, who sees it, how long it is kept and what rights you have over it. It applies to the qadrna.com website and to the platform when you use it.
Who we are and how to reach us
"Qadrna" is the name of the service this platform provides. The details of the legal entity operating it will be added to this policy once its registration is complete.
For any question or request about your data, email info@qadrna.com or use the contact page.
The data we collect
We collect only what the service needs, and it depends on what you do:
- When you visit the website: technical data our servers record automatically, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request, and two cookies the website needs to work. Details are in the cookie policy.
- When you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address, and whether you have confirmed the subscription.
- When you write to us: your name, email address, the topic of your message and its text.
- When you create an account: your email address, your password stored with one-way encryption, your gender and date of birth, your confirmation that you are 18 or older, and your acceptance of the terms and this policy, with their version numbers, the time of acceptance, your IP address and device.
- When you verify: your phone number and the code sent to it, a live selfie, and an image of your ID or passport if you choose full verification.
- In your marriage profile: your display name, age and location, religion and religiosity, marital status and any intention of polygamy, lifestyle, work, education and housing, children, your expectations of married life, your bio and your photos.
- In the compatibility assessment: your answers, and the compatibility results calculated from them.
- When you connect on the platform: contact requests and your responses to them, messages after mutual acceptance, and reports and blocks.
- When you take a paid subscription: your plan, its status and your payment history. Card details are handled directly by our payment provider, Stripe; they never reach us and we do not store them.
Sensitive data
Religion, marital status, photos, selfies and identity documents are sensitive by nature. We process them only with your explicit consent and for a specific purpose: matching, verification or safety. Within our team, access is limited to those who need it for their work, and every access is logged.
- No other member ever sees your identity document; it is used only for verification.
- Your photos are private by default, and each photo has a visibility level you choose: private, visible to accepted matches, or by individual permission.
- Your full name and exact workplace are hidden by default.
Why we use your data
- To provide the service: creating your account, building your profile, calculating compatibility, weekly matches, contact requests and conversations.
- For verification and safety: confirming your identity and seriousness, reviewing accounts and photos before they appear, handling reports, and preventing fraud and impersonation.
- To communicate with you: account and security messages, notifications about matches and requests according to your preferences, and replies to your messages.
- For the newsletter: only after you confirm your subscription, and you can unsubscribe from any email.
- For legal obligations: keeping the records the law requires, and responding to binding legal requests.
We do not sell your data, use it for targeted advertising, or share it with advertisers.
Who sees your data
- Other members: see only what your privacy settings allow. Private photos are never revealed without mutual acceptance or your explicit permission, and any reversal takes effect at once.
- The review team: sees what it needs to review accounts and handle reports, with limited permissions, and every action is recorded in an audit log.
- Service providers: companies that run parts of the service on our behalf, such as hosting, email, text messages, payments and identity verification. They use your data only to do what we ask of them, under data processing agreements.
- Competent authorities: when the law requires it, or to protect someone from serious harm.
Transfers outside your country
Qadrna serves users around the world, and your data may be processed by our service providers in a country other than your own. For every such transfer we rely on contractual safeguards that keep the level of protection this policy describes.
How long we keep your data
We keep each type of data only as long as its purpose requires, then delete it. When you ask to delete your account it is hidden immediately, and its data is permanently deleted after 30 days, except for the minimum the law requires. The detailed periods are in the retention and deletion policy.
Your rights
- Access: to know what we hold about you.
- Correction: to correct your data yourself in your account, or by asking us.
- Deletion: to delete your account and your data.
- Portability: to receive a complete copy of your data in a readable format.
- Objection and restriction: to object to a particular use, or ask us to restrict it.
- Withdrawing consent: at any time, without affecting processing that came before.
You can exercise most of these rights directly from your account settings, or by emailing info@qadrna.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request, to protect your account. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
How we protect your data
- An encrypted connection between your device and our servers.
- Passwords stored with one-way encryption, and a temporary lock after repeated failed sign-in attempts.
- Time-limited links for photos and documents, and separate storage for identity documents.
- Limited access for our team, and an audit log of every access to sensitive data.
No system is perfectly secure, but we build protection into the design itself. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the competent authorities as the law requires.
Minors
Qadrna is only for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger, and we delete immediately any account found to belong to a minor.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service develops. The date and version at the top of the page show the latest update. If a change is significant, we will tell you before it takes effect, and ask for your consent again where required.
